Self-ligating BracketsModern orthodontic treatment combines innovative high-tech technologies which enable application of gentle, minimal pressure on teeth. This pressure brings about the intended movement of teeth, planned in advance, with speedy and good results.Self-ligating brackets use minimal force needed to move teeth. Only when teeth movement is coordinated with muscle force, is esthetic and functional harmony achieved. The precise movement enables shorter and more comfortable treatment.

self_ligating_1.jpgThe self-ligating brackets make the use of biological forces possible by virtue of the technology of passive-active ligation of the orthodontic arch.During the initial stages of treatment, the ligation of the arch is passive and allows for initial straightening, in a quick manner and with no friction. During the next stages, it is necessary to apply gentle, active pressure to achieve precise movement of the roots of the teeth (torque). Wires are utilized, filling the slot, and the ligation  becomes active.
