Esthetic Orthodontics for Adults

Adult Orthodontics

When treating adult patients, it is important to know:

1. The bone structure has been completed and full correction of any imperfection of jaw development (such as a small or protruding jaw ) must be performed with surgical intervention.

2. In the older the patient , an aspect of rehabilitation is added, due to numerous fillings, crowns, missing teeth and periodontic disease, all of which cause bone loss and tooth movement.

3. An adult patient desires short and focussed treatment, alongside esthetic and undetected apparatus.

These and other reasons necessitate close cooperation of the entire dental team.
The patient undergoes an all-encompassing evaluation, including an orthodontic assessment, a periodontic and prosthodontic examination .
The actual treatment will be performed only after a joint discussion about all consequences of any treatment and after determining priorities and treatment protocol.

Esthetic Orthodontics

Conventional orthodontic treatment with metal brackets ("bands") attached to teeth, for months on end (or even years), deter many who are interested in improving the esthetics of their teeth and smile.

Today there are a number of innovative methods for teeth straightening, which were developed in consideration of the awareness of esthetics not only at the end of the process of straightening, but during the procedure as well. These are paricularly suitable for adult treatment.

There are numerous new orthodontic treatment methods developed due to the awareness of esthetics not only at the end of treatment but during treatment as well. These are particularly suitable for adult treatment.
